Computer stolen from unlocked car


A computer was among the items taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 1100 block of Wesley Avenue. This is one of the stories in Tuesday’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

burglary
1100 Wesley
A computer and various personal items were taken from an unlocked 2017 Subaru in a parking lot in the 1100 block of Wesley Avenue between 9 a.m. Thursday and 1:45 p.m. Monday.

2200 Wesley
The wallet was taken from an unlocked 2021 Volvo in the 2200 block of Wesley Avenue between 7 p.m. Sunday and noon Monday.

1000 Garnett
A purse was taken from an unlocked 2018 Volkswagen in the 1000 block of Garnett Place between 7:30 a.m. Sunday and 7:30 a.m. Monday.

Battery
1107 Florence
Bethany A. Castillo, 20, of 1107 Florence Ave., was arrested at that address at 12:42 a.m. on Monday and charged with domestic battery.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
1900 Howard
The glass door of a business in the 1900 block of Howard Street was broken at around 1:25 pm on Monday.

900 Dodge
Three juveniles were found throwing eggs at the front door of the Walgreens Pharmacy in the 900 block of Dodge Avenue at 9:51 p.m. on Monday.

551 Sheridan
Allen S. Conway, 58, of 1245 Elmwood Ave., was arrested at 551 Sheridan Square at 11:58 p.m. Monday and charged with criminal damage to property.

GRAFFITI
Washington and Custer
Graffiti was discovered spray-painted on a Metra structure near Washington Street and Custer Avenue at 1:03 p.m. Monday.

1800 Maple
The graffiti was discovered spray-painted in a parking garage in the 1800 block of Maple Avenue at 12:34 a.m. Monday.

Shots were heard
Main on Elmwood
Gunshots were reported at Main Street and Elmwood Avenue at 4:17 pm on Monday. The police searched the area but found nothing.

THEFT
2200 Oakton
A 59-year-old man complained that a cell phone was taken from his pocket while he was getting out of an Uber vehicle in the 2200 block of Oakton Street at 11:35 p.m. on Monday.

2400 Howard
The laundry detergent was taken from the Jewel-Osco grocery store in the 2400 block of Howard
Road at 11:52 pm on Monday.

1600 Sherman
Items of clothing were stolen from the Gearhead Outfitters outdoor sports store in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Monday.

IThe incidents listed are among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest is not a finding of guilt, which can only be determined in a court of law. Court appearances took place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
