Computer, security cameras stolen from Nebraska Republican Party office, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Police are investigating a burglary at a Nebraska Republican Party office near 16th and N Streets.

The robbery was reported around 12:34 p.m. on Monday. A party volunteer told officers he was in the building to meet with a locksmith.

Entering the building, he noticed that the office was chaotic. An office computer and security cameras were reported stolen, police said.

They estimated the total loss at about $ 1,000. The investigation is ongoing to determine if anything else was stolen.

Police said there were no forced entry signs.

Over the weekend, the Nebraska Republican Party faced several changes at its state convention in Kearney, including the replacement of Chairman Dan Welch and Executive Director Taylor Gage.

Eric Underwood, who will now serve as party chairman, spoke at the Nebraska Republican Party office on Thursday.
