Seeking merger in education department, computer teachers threaten stir : The Tribune India

Members of the Computer Teachers ’Union at a meeting held here today decided to hold statewide protests on July 27, seeking their integration with the Department of Education.

Union president Baljinder Singh Fatehpur and member Gurwinder Singh Tarn Taran, speaking to media persons, said nearly 7,000 computer teachers across the state, have been regularized under Punjab ICT Education Society in 2011, demanded that they be brought under the Department of Education and provided for all. benefits of a regular teacher, but the state government did not pay attention to their demands.

They said the previous government, had also given assurances that they would bring all computer teachers under the Department of Education but failed to provide. “Similarly, the AAP government, too, has made long promises to regularize teachers and make education better, but the CM has failed to provide a solution to our demands,” they added.

They added that the government was already paying the salaries through society, and all they were asking for was that the salaries be paid directly to the government, rather than through society as a grant. “If the government fails to respond to our demands, we will intensify our disruption in numerous rallies, conferences and meetings, highlighting the government’s failure and ignorant behavior of its teachers,” Fatehpur said. – TNS

Members of the Computer Teachers ’Union said that after district -level protests on July 27, they will hold a statewide protest on Aug. 13 to force the state government to accept their demands.
