Computer Engineer, 34, needs N12m for kidney transplant – The Sun Nigeria

Mr Akinwale Vincent Daramola, a 34-year-old Computer Engineer, appealed to Nigerians for a donation of N12 million to undergo a kidney transplant.

Daramola enlisted the help of enthusiastic individuals, corporate organizations and governments for speedy intervention of his disease diagnosed end-stage renal disease to stay alive.

Going by the medical report, Daramola, has been undergoing treatment since July 27, 2021, and is now in need of an urgent kidney transplant, estimated to cost between N9 million and N12 million in Nigeria.

A consultant Nephrologist at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti Renal Unit, Dr. Omotola Obajolowo, who manages the patient, revealed that, “Daramola is administered for End-Stage Kidney disease and is three times in maintenance intermittent hemodialysis. Per week among other treatments.

“Her adherence to care was poor due to financial constraints. The family asked us to write down the details of the cost of care for the purpose of requesting funding for support. Specific care is renal transplantation costing between N9 – N12 million in Nigeria ”.

The medical consultant said that “at intervals, the patient should continue care (including three dialysis sessions per week) .The total cost of care per month is estimated at N581,000 which is waiting to move.

“Any help that can be given to any well-meaning individuals and corporate organizations can go a long way in alleviating his overall condition,” according to the expert.

Also recounting her husband’s frightening experience, the patient’s wife, Mrs Olumuyiwa Daramola, said, “Please save my husband from death. We need financial support to save his life.

“At first we thought the kidney would recover through regular dialysis, not until we were told the kidney was already wrapped and he needed a kidney transplant.

“Before the illness, he was a Computer Engineer and also sold phones and laptop accessories at Fayose Market, Ado Ekiti as well as Oye Ekiti. We sold the remaining items to take care of the treatment. After that we turned to the family. and friends to save his life.
