A farmers’ market Chicopeesponsored by the Valley Opportunity Council (VOC), starting Wednesday.
The farmers market takes place every Wednesday during the summer until September 14t and brings together the community to focus on health and nutrition.
VOC has run the Chicopee Farmers ’Market for over 20 years with more than 2,500 visitors each summer to provide an opportunity for local farmers and small retailers to sell their fresh produce and products to the community.
on Agawamthe fire department is seeking donations for smoke detectors to support their installation program.
Recently, the department began installing hardwired smoke detectors for the first time as part of a local fire safety initiative.
We were told that the program was very successful and the demand for hardwired detectors exceeded expectations. As a result, the supplies of the detectors were depleted.
Wednesday also marks the start of sign-ups Holyoke Public Library for free computer classes.
Classes are aimed at helping people read the basics of computers or to help beginners. Classes will be held on the third floor of the library.
